Experts - Chef Jacob Kumar Sahaya
The Indian Federation of Culinary Associations (IFCA) has acknowledged the efforts of 33 year old Chef Jacob Kumar Sahay. The IFCA gave him an award for the Best young chef instructor of the year 2005-2007. In May 2007, former President Dr.A.P.J.Abdul Kalam felicitated the chef for his extensive research on ancient cuisines of South India. After completing his degree in a hotel Management College, Chef Jacob Sahay was selected as a management trainee with ITC Park Sheraton and Towers, Chennai and worked there for 6 months. After that he joined as a lecturer in Karpagam Arts Science College in the catering dept by 1998. As head of catering department with Cherrraan's arts science college, Kangayam, Tamilnadu, he started researches on the lost and forgotten cuisines of Southern India.

Chef Jacob has done several researches on various cuisines of South India and has promoted the same as 10 day food festivals in 25 leading chains of hotels across the country. This young master chef is very passionate when it comes to both cooking and eating. In his own words sumptuous food is his weakness. Creating new dishes in his kitchen is a constant process for Chef Jacob. Most of Chef Jacob's endeavors are to make south Indian food largely acceptable to people all over the world and to show the whole world that south Indian food is not just about idlis, dosa and sambar, there is so much more to offer. As he says, through his researches he hopes that South Indian cuisine will get an important place on the culinary map of the world!
